This August, we celebrate a remarkable milestone: 65 years of Lamaze.
For more than six decades, families around the world have trusted Lamaze to guide them through one of life’s most profound experiences, bringing a new baby into the world. That trust has been built one parent at a time, one educator at a time, one class at a time. And today, we honor the millions of families who have found confidence, support, and strength in Lamaze from pregnancy through parenthood.
It’s hard to fully capture the ripple effect of this work. From the very beginning, Lamaze has championed safe, respectful, evidence-based care, and that message has echoed across generations. Grandparents who once took Lamaze classes now watch their own grandchildren prepare for birth in new ways, with new tools, but with the same steady commitment to informed, empowered decision-making.
In 2025, childbirth education matters as much as it ever has–maybe more. With more information at our fingertips than ever before, what expectant parents really need is wisdom. They need trusted guidance to cut through the noise. They need real answers from real people who see them, hear them, and support their values. Lamaze educators do just that, every day.
Today’s classes look different than they did in the 1960s, but the heart of Lamaze is unchanged. Parents can now access Lamaze classes in person, virtually, or on demand, meeting families where they are in every sense of the word. Whether you're in a hospital classroom, on a Zoom call during your lunch hour, or watching on demand from the comfort of your own home, Lamaze is here for you.
And none of this would be possible without the incredible people who make Lamaze what it is. Our educators are the heartbeat of this movement, some of whom have been teaching for 10, 20, even 50 years. Your dedication, your knowledge, and your compassion are what sustain us. You are our legacy and our future, and we are so grateful for you.
So, as we mark this 65th year, we’re not just looking back, we’re looking forward. The future of birth is being shaped right now, and Lamaze will continue to be at the center of it, evolving, growing, listening, and leading.
Please join us in celebrating this milestone. Share your story. Lift up the educator who changed your journey. Post your favorite Lamaze memory or photo. Follow along with our birthday celebration on social media and help us honor 65 years of powerful beginnings.
With deep gratitude and bright hope,
