More than 1,500 Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educators must earn contact hours every three years. Lamaze approval makes your organization a reliable source for continuing education.
Get Started and Choose the Option That Fits Your Work
Lamaze makes the approval process simple with two approval options based on how often you provide education. Choose the option that fits your needs and apply for contact hour approval.
Option 1: Ongoing Approved Provider Organization
This option is for organizations that offer continuing education on a regular basis, such as hospitals, birth centers, universities, nonprofits, and training programs.
Once approved, your organization can offer Lamaze contact hours for eligible in-person or online education throughout the year. There is no fixed renewal cycle. Approved status continues unless withdrawn for cause.
Approved Provider Organizations can:
- Offer contact hours for multiple events
- Strengthen the value of their education programs
- Support Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educators in staying certified
Option 2: One-Time Activity Approval
This option is for a single course, workshop, webinar, or conference session.
Approval applies only to the specific activity submitted and does not include ongoing provider status.
This option works well for:
- Independent educators offering occasional classes
- One-time webinars or trainings
- Conference speakers or special events
One-time approval is flexible and does not require a long-term commitment.
