Family Trees Birth Programs

Wendy Trees, MS, CD(DONA), CLC, FACCE, LCCE, LEC is the Owner/Founder/Program Director of Family Trees Birth Programs, a Lamaze-Accredited Childbirth Educator Training Program, and the Executive Director for Nativitas , a non-profit, accessible childbirth program.  Her exciting and dynamic teaching style makes her classes fun, robust, and energetic. 

Wendy holds a Master's degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Midwifery and Maternal Healthcare.  In 2015, she was inducted into the prestigious Fellowship of the Academy of Certified Childbirth Educators (FACCE) and earned Lamaze Accreditation for the Family Trees Lamaze Childbirth Educator Training Program.  

​She became a Certified Doula through DONA International in 2009 and has supported hundreds of families as they've welcomed their new babies into this world. 

As a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) and Program Director for Lamaze, Wendy provides empowering education to both parents and professionals.  She consistently receives glowing reviews from her students and co-workers.  Wendy has taught at major hospital systems, public health organizations, and universities throughout the United States and has trained Childbirth Educators from around the world. 

Professionally, Wendy was involved with published research at Towson University School of Nursing and has guest lectured at several universities, hospitals, and professional organizations.   Wendy was the featured speaker at the PA AWHONN conference, and Nurse Family Partnership state conference. She regularly presents at Lamaze International conferences and has been published in the Journal of Perinatal Education. Wendy was the Chair of the Education Council at Lamaze International through 2024 and is currently serving on the Lamaze International Board of Directors. 

She proudly represented the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania lobbying for better maternity care on Capitol Hill in 2017 & 2020, holding appointments with countless members of US congress.  Wendy is passionate about addressing the healthcare disparities that exist within the United States maternity care system. She was a doula trainer for Patients R Waiting’s Diversifying Doula Program on their inaugural advisory board. A lover of learning, Wendy earns more than four times the required professional continuing education each year. 

She thoroughly enjoys sharing her love for labor support and education with other birth professionals. 

Above all else, she is most proud of her four children.
