NYC Lamaze Childbirth Educator Training Program's mission is to train and mentor Lamaze childbirth educators who will spread the powerful message of the Simple Story of Birth and Lamaze's 6 Healthy Birth Practices in order to promote and support the normal physiological model of childbirth and improve childbirth outcomes.

NYC Lamaze's mission is to provide high quality foundational Lamaze educator training, offering the knowledge and skills needed to plan, facilitate, and evaluate an evidence-based childbirth education program. NYC Lamaze is deeply involved in the on-going far-reaching mission to protect, promote, and support normal birth by training childbirth educators. This is accomplished through our 3 day seminar which includes a combination of highly interactive lectures, discussions, demonstrations, supplemental videos, take home activities as well as group activities designed to build research and teaching skills. NYC Lamaze is led by Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, program director, and trainer Robin Douthit.
