Momnibus Bill, Protecting Parents Who Served Act, Signed into Law
By: Molly Giammarco, MPP | 0 Comments
This week, President Joe Biden signed the Protecting Moms Who Served Act into law, the first of the 12 Momnibus bills to make it to the President’s desk. The Protecting Moms Who Served Act focuses on maternal health among Veterans by commissioning a study to assess maternal-health risks pregnant, birthing and postpartum Veterans face and investing in Veteran Affairs’ maternity-care coordination.
Lamaze International is proud to endorse the Momnibus, which is a historical package that tackles, and provides solutions to, persisting maternal-health disparities that in many cases are only growing worse. The legislative package is ambitious, comprehensive, and powerful—not just because of what it strives to accomplish, but also because of its recognition of all the different entities and services that play critical roles within the pregnancy journey.
