The countdown is on for LamazeLIVE! 2024. As you prepare to join your global community of perinatal professionals online, March 7–8, get a preview of some of the latest insights in childbirth education you will gain from the virtual event.
Here, Ann-Marie J. Christian, MOM, IBCLC, RYT-200, ICCE, ICBD, IAT, Retired LLLL, shares insight to her pre-conference workshop, “CPR of Lactation: Consistent, Proactive, Reproducible Lactation Guidelines for Crisis Management,” taking place at 2:10 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 6. Get a glimpse of how important consistency in education and messaging is to the early success of the breast/chestfeeding dyad.
Lamaze: Share a one-sentence elevator pitch about your LamazeLIVE! session.
Ann-Marie J. Christian, MOM, IBCLC, RYT-200, ICCE, ICBD, IAT, Retired LLLL (AMJC): Attendees will learn how simple, evidenced-based chest/breastfeeding information — when packaged and presented plainly and reliably — can set up expecting/new families for early success and less need for intervention.
Lamaze: What industry trend(s) or challenge(s) does your session address? Why does it matter for childbirth educators and perinatal professionals?
AMJC: The standardized concepts presented for prenatal and/or early breast/chestfeeding education will help reveal how important consistency in education and messaging is to the early success of the breast/chestfeeding dyad.
Lamaze: LamazeLIVE! is a virtual event, allowing for connection with peers from across the globe. How does your session foster connection and dialogue among attendees?
AMJC: The virtual presentation format will include an opportunity to roleplay and practice scenarios as well as have live Q&A at the end.
Lamaze: What is one key takeaway or actionable step attendees can learn from your session and immediately incorporate into their daily work?
AMJC: Scripting for these "CPR of Lactation" guidelines will be provided and reinforced with an emphasis on succinct delivery leading to a significant increase in the attendees’ ability to remember and execute.
Lamaze: Why is it valuable to present at — and attend — a Lamaze event?
AMJC: As an ICEA certified doula, educator and trainer, I strongly believe in the collaboration, not competition, of certifying birthwork organizations. I want to emphasize the importance of sharing and learning together to help foster a diverse next generation of birth- and breastfeeding-educated healthcare professionals and communities.
