Lamaze International Heads to AWHONN Convention with Goal of Education and Connection
By: Sharon Muza, BS, LCCE, FACCE, CD/BDT(DONA), CLE | 0 Comments
Lamaze International's Jeanne Mendelson, Chief Operating Officer, Liz DeMaere, Lamaze Board President, and six Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educators will be headed to Tampa, Florida at the end of this month to exhibit at the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) 2018 Annual Convention. Lamaze will be sharing resources such as the Evidence-Based Labor Support Workshop, online parent education, the Pregnancy to Parenting FREE mobile app and so much more!
Lamaze has a long history of collaboration with perinatal nurses and many of our certified educators are also RNs working with birthing and postpartum families.
The Evidence-Based Labor Support Workshop is designed to educate labor and delivery nurses about the benefits of the Six Healthy Birth Practices and to help them learn more about how they can promote and support physiologic birth in a hospital setting. This interactive, hands-on workshop is appropriate for new and experienced nurses. Many hospitals are using this workshop as part of their new labor nurse orientation program. Hospitals can benefit through higher quality measure and patient satisfaction scores, and childbearing families can benefit from skilled labor support for a healthy and satisfying birth experience!
Liz DeMaere, Lamaze Board President shared more about this workshop in the most recent edition of Inside Lamaze. Are you interested in learning more about the Evidence-Based Labor Support Workshop? Maybe you are even considering offering this valuable resource in your community? Reach out and connect with Laura Ruth Ward, Operations Manager for requirements and more information. She would be happy to speak to you.
