Shades of Blue Provides Mental Health Support Groups for Black & Brown Mothers

The Shades of Blue Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking cultural barriers in maternal mental health. Specifically, they work to destigmatize and provide resources for Black and Brown birthing people seeking mental health treatment after childbirth. While their home base is located in Houston, TX, Shades of Blue Project provides resources for families across the United States and around the world through basic needs distribution and online support groups

To find online support groups at Shades of Blue Project, called "I.N.S.P.I.R.E.," visit their page and request an assessment to join the group that best meets your needs:

  • Pregnant & Postpartum
  • Teen Moms
  • Single Moms
  • Infant Loss
  • LGBTQ+
  • General Mental Health (Tuesdays & Fridays)
  • Teen & Young Adults

 

The Social Support services outreach distributes diapers and wipes to families who live in the following states:

Shades of Blue Project is an active participant in the conversations happening during Black Maternal Health Week, April 11-17, as well as Black Maternal Mental Health Week, which takes place in July.
