September is Baby Safety Month, an event sponsored by the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA)to increase parents' and caregivers' awareness of baby products safety. The 2017 theme is "Strap Safety," which highlights the many critical and proper uses of safety straps in baby items like car seats, strollers, high chairs, swings, and bouncers. Straps may sometimes seem like a hassle and unnecessary, but according to JPMA, they should always be used when they are available. Falls are the leading cause of non-fatal injuries in children ages 0-19, so knowing how to properly strap in infants and toddlers is one of the key ways you can prevent fall-related injuries! For strap-related safety tips as well as other baby safety information, I encourage you to check out the Baby Safety Zonewebsite created by JPMA.
